Behind-the-hip (4 o’clock position), tuckable, adjustable cant, slim profile, and adjustable ride depth, there is no way you can go wrong with this holster. This “hybrid” holster combines cowhide leather backing with a kydex half-shell mounted on the leather. The leather backing provides the desired comfort achieved by leather holsters. The kydex half-shell provides the reliable, consistent draw and re-holstering capabilities. Adjustable cant and ride depth the clips on the MTAC can be re-positioned to ride higher or lower on the holster. This allows the cant (angle) to be adjusted more or less depending on user preference. The ride depth can also be adjusted in the same manner. The interchangeable clips can be swapped out for different styles, colors, and belt widths.
Customers all over have written positive reviews about this holster. This holster is made by being modeled to the gun so it fits in perfectly and “clicks”. Due to this fit process, there may be small scuffs on the inside of the holster. This is normal and caused by the fit process.
This holster is specifically designed for the M&P Shield. The material will conform to your gun and your body over time. It is very simple, durable, ambidextrous, and very lightweight at only 3 oz. It has level I retention, and is noted to hold the gun in place even with running, jumping, and other vigorous activity. It is comfortable, concealable and well worth the one time investment.
From the ground up, this M&P shield holster is designed to be an ultra-concealable, minimalistic, appendix carry holster without the drawbacks. Distinct features such as the smooth edge finish and minimal material used facilitate in a comfortable fit providing maximum concealment. Each shield holster is formed to the specific model for a snug fit with low drag.
The adjustable retention screw along with the inherent positive retention ensures the firearm is secure when holstered. Removal of extra material between the muzzle and retention screw adds to a layer of comfort without digging into the body or thigh. The trigger guard was intentionally undercut to promote a higher grip on the firearm and allow for magazine release while the firearm is fully holstered. From the injection molded belt clip to the soft loop option, the cant settings are easily adjustable from 0-15 degrees.
The Neutral Cant, not only is it a hybrid between Kydex and leather, it is also a hybrid between the Minotaur MTAC and Comp-Tac’s two o’clock holsters. Minotaur has managed to capture the comfort of the MTAC holster and the function of the two o’clock and mesh them together to create a new tuckable, interchangeable, and cantable holster that has a faster presentation and is also designed with women in mind! While you still have the option of your choice of clips and the capability to interchange between half-bodies, the geometry of the mounting points has been adjusted to make it perfect for inguinal (“front-of-hip” for those of you in Rio Linda) carry. Also, the Neutral Cant allows for carrying in a cross draw position making it a good holster for those of you who spend a lot of your time driving.
So give a nice, warm welcome to the new animal in the Minotaur family and get your Neutral Cant holster today! The “slide” version allows you to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as 9mm, .40, and .357’s). The slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so the excess barrel length on longer guns can “slide” through the end of the holster. A “full-coverage” version can be ordered by selecting your specific gun model. Standard Clips are available in black, chestnut, brown, and khaki, and C-Clips are available in black or chestnut. Please keep in mind that they fit check every single holster with the actual make and model firearm ordered. As a result, the leather backing may show slight wear marks or scratches from the fit process.
Galco’s KingTuk tuckable IWB reigns supreme in comfort, speed and versatility. The patented KingTuk provides the best of both worlds: a comfortable backing plate made of lined saddle leather with napa leather front combined with a rigid kydex holster pocket for a fast draw and easy holstering. Worn inside the waistband, the KingTuk’s removable metal belt clips (fitting belts up to 1 3/4″) can be moved up or down in the corresponding holes in the leather, enabling the user to set the carry height and angle to suit their unique preferences. Optional, interchangeable injection molded nylon C-Hooks – fitting belts up to 1 1/4″ and sold separately – are also available. The C-Hooks offer an even lower profile on the belt and further increase the KingTuk’s already excellent concealability. Available in black with standard metal clips that fit belts up to 1-3/4”.
Comp-Tac is pleased to offer gear made by Minotaur Holsters, a new company specializing in Kydex/leather hybrid holsters. These holsters combine the speed and one-handed reholstering capability of Kydex with the comfort of leather. The Spartan is a “meat and potatoes” economy version of the MTAC. The Spartan is tuckable, you can adjust the cant, and you can get additional Kydex half-bodies for different weapons, all like the MTAC. It’s not as pretty, and the fasteners aren’t covered, but it’ll save you a few dollars. The Minotaur Spartan uses the same clips as the CTAC and the MTAC. Additional Kydex bodies can be ordered (Spare Minotaur Bodies) but they are NOT the same as those used on the Gladiator and MTAC holsters. This holster utilizes the same Kydex clips as seen on the Comp-Tac CTAC holster, which allow you to adjust the cant. With the clips offset from the holster body, the holster disappears when you tuck your shirt between the holster and your pants.
Also, the Kydex half-bodies (made by Comp-Tac) are interchangeable, so you can order additional holster half-bodies to set your holster up for a different gun. Please remember they fit check every single holster with the actual make and model firearm ordered. As a result, the leather backing may show slight wear marks or scratches from the fit process.
The Comp-Tac Two O’clock holster is an all-kydex inside the waistband (IWB) holster designed for concealed carry. Made to be worn at 2:00 on a right handed shooter this holster allows quick and easy access to your concealed carry firearm. The all-kydex body on the Two O’clock provides a rigid material that is custom fit to each firearm and maintains its shape even with the pistol un-holstered. The smooth low friction surface allows for a fast draw and easy one-handed re-holstering of the firearm. The all-kydex body will not bend or stretch over time and is impervious to sweat and solvents. The Two O’Clock Holster comes with a C-clip style Two O’Clock clip. This clip has several holes to allow for adjustable ride depth. The “Slide” version allows the user to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as 9mm, .40, and .357).
The Slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so that longer guns can ‘slide’ through the end of the holster. Slide versions of outside the waistband holsters are recommended for range work only. While carrying a longer firearm in a slide holster the end is left exposed and the user must be careful not to bump the exposed muzzle up against anything that might dislodge the firearm, i.e. sitting down in an arm chair. Not all Models will have the de-bossing (make and model) listed on the outside of the holster. Comp-Tac is working to update all of their models to have this, it is an ongoing process.
The Traditional IWB is molded out of a slim yet durable .080 true Kydex. The first thing you will notice with this holster is the contour of the overall shape. The outside contour of the belt helps the operator conceal but also helps to keep the holster in the natural voids of the body. This holster is designed to be worn in the 4 o clock position on the belt for right handed shooters and 8 o clock position for left handed shooters.
The soft Injection molded loops feature the security of directional pull the dot snaps making this holster a secure yet easy on and off. When drawing your firearm for the first time you will notice the strategic cutaways. As you come in for the “full combat grip” you will see that the holster is precisely cut away to not interfere with the grip or draw. This holster has an integrated adjustable tension that can be set with any traditional Phillips head screw driver.
